There are so many things that matter so much right now. I can name a hundred things that seem like they are of dire importance but I bet next year it will not have mattered whether I did them or not, or to whatever extent. True, some actions are determinants of what comes next, but it will get lost in the whole grand scheme of everything. Will it really matter if I don’t get a A on my quiz? Will it really matter if I get detention? Will it really matter if I have just one drink? Will it really matter if I go to next week’s party? Sure these might have have circumstantial consequences, but overall, I think we all make bigger deals out of everyday situations. Not every decision made in high school will transpire into a part of our future, my guess is that little actually will. I’m not on this deep personal quest to discover the meaning of life here, I’m just figuring out what is worth the sweat and what isn’t.
